Each student will choose an Internet Meme or mashup (e.g., a still image, a video, or a series of images or videos), post it/them to the blog, include a byline (“by John Smith”), and then begin the post on the next line.  In the analysis, the student will introduce the reason for choosing the meme/mashup, write a description of the relevant aspects of the meme/mashup, and then explain the greater relevance. A semiotic approach is encouraged, and issues of race, gender, and identity in general may be relevant, as may be political content.  The post should be 350-400 words–consider this a strict rule.
